Jenni Meikle

Jenni ventured up to Newcastle from Stockport when she was accepted into Newcastle University. After graduating, she headed to Barcelona to spend nine months teaching English and exploring Spain.Whilst browsing for jobs during her time there, she could not believe her luck when she discovered that our Products and Operations department were searching for a new member.

Next thing she knew, she was back up here in Northumberland, working hard to create fantastic new trips for our clients.

As a recent member of the team, Jenni has a lot to see and experience. On her first ever trip with the company, she was lucky enough to witness a fantastic display of the Northern Lights, and this has made her even more eager to explore the Arctic Circle. Her favourite winter activity so far has been snowmobiling, however she is keen to try husky sledding as she thinks this may come out top in her list.

So far her travels have taken her to Finland and Norway, and she took a particular shine to Finnmark, as the views were spectacular from every angle. She is particularly keen to visit Sweden and stay in Aurora Mountain Lodge, as this is a brand new destination for the whole team and would be an amazing experience.

Iceland is also a destination that Jenni has become particularly intrigued by during her time here. Although this is somewhere she never considered visiting before, researching and writing about Reykjavik, the Blue Lagoon, the magnificent natural features of the landscapes such as beautiful waterfalls and bursting Geysirs, has developed her interest in the destination.

The Aurora Zone was born out of our love of all things wintery. We were already regular visitors to the likes of Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland thanks to a fascination with winter activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling and the Scandinavian way of life. Many of our visits coincided with sightings of the Northern Lights and The Aurora Zone was born from a desire to share Mother Nature’s greatest wonder with as many people as possible. We have all been held in the Aurora’s thrall and our mission is to do our very best to ensure that our clients can experience that magical moment on their Northern Lights holiday.
