Katharina was lucky enough to travel to Sweden, which was her first winter adventure since she’s started working for The Aurora Zone and also her first visit to Swedish Lapland. Prepared with her new, warm winter clothes, the adventure could begin. Katharina was really excited to see the Northern Lights, as everyone told her how amazing and beautiful they are. She had the best time ever. Driving across a frozen lake on a snowmobile, having lunch in the Arctic wilderness and going on a snowshoe walk in the deep snow was simply amazing. The best part for Katharina was the short husky safari, as the musher Richard let her drive the sledge – that was absolutely a memorable experience. He’s got the calmest huskies she has ever seen! Also an unforgettable experience for Katharina was to stay at the fascinating Treehotel, which has 6 individual designed rooms up in the trees. She woke up in the morning with a breath-taking view and said she couldn’t wish for more! Another special place she stayed at, was the Aurora Safari Camp. Every couple of hours Katharina had to get up and put some logs in the stove to keep the tent nice and warm. That was a real camping experience for her in the surroundings of the stunning and picturesque Arctic landscape. Swedish Lapland is definitely worth a visit!
